September 11, 2001 will never be forgotten. We all carry it with us, our shared history and shared grief. The attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City were the deadliest acts of terror in U.S. history. More than 2,600 people lost their lives when two hijackers crashed passenger jets into the Twin Towers—dads and moms, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives—people of all walks of life, and of all nationalities died doing their jobs, and hundreds of first responders who rushed in to help also lost their lives in the tragedy.
In addition to these heart-wrenching losses, many more individuals have succumbed to illnesses related to their rescue and recovery efforts over the years. The FDNY recently added 32 more names to the World Trade Center Memorial Wall to honor these heroes—firefighters, EMS, paramedics and engineers.
They will forever be remembered and honored for their sacrifice.
Today, we at Breezer Mobile Cooling humbly recognize the heroes who rushed in to help, and remember and honor all of those lost that terrible day. There are many ways to honor 9/11 around your community and across the nation, including volunteer projects, moments of silence, 5K memorial runs and stair climbs.
